The feeling of finishing yeti boxing doesn't feel rewarding, it just feels like you've escaped from something you never wanted to do in the first place. The first main concern with Year of the Dragon is that many of the challenges brought into the game are incredibly challenging without being very fun. This doesn't crush all hope of it being an enjoyable game, but it certainly feels like the focus of the first two titles gets lost in the shuffle. Many of the ideas are welcome on paper, but don't entire pan out in ways you would hope for. Spyro 3 is, at this point in the series, the clunkiest and most buggy entry to date. With ambition, however, comes extra baggage and problems along the way. The gameplay introduced in the original remains, the extra challenges from the sequel return, and now, additional playable characters are introduced to round off the most ambitious Spyro game to date. Insomniac returns with a third go at the Spyro franchise, and all the stops are being pulled out. While I'll be forever dismayed at Spyro's tainted legacy, the ending to this game feels well-earned and does a good job at wrapping up the story. The characters are so well-crafted and lovable, the levels have some of the best layouts and designs of any platformer I've played, the controls and camera still feel fresh and have aged well for their time, and is there really anything else to say about Stewart Copeland's contribution to the Spyro trilogy? Copeland clearly played the levels and thought-out the music in his head while playing it, because every song in this game is nailed to perfection and accompanies the level perfectly. Whenever I play this game (probably like once a year), it feels like sooo much passion and heart went into this game from the team at Insomniac. Decades later, it still feels fresh and - uniquely - modern for its time. It was the Spyro game I grew up playing and loved.

I can't stress how much this game means to me.
